  2. Charles & Sally Powell says:

Our deepest sympathy to the family. We are so glad we were able to see Barbara a couple years ago when we were out in Montana. She will be sadly missed.

  3. Gary Kimble says:

Barbara was one of my best friends. We danced at the Ovando and Helmville dances as teenagers. My best childhood friend’s family, lived next door to her, growing up. We were in college together. We served in the Legislature together. When Barbara married J.D., I was the first one she told. My older brother was J.D.’s big sister’s high school sweetheart. We were in a twelve step program about the same amount of years. When she worked for me here in D.C., one day we decided to design her house in Elmo, which she gave to the contractor and actually built, according to our pencil drawings.

In short, we lived in many ways, the same life. I have no one else who was in the same place, doing the same things, at the same time. I will miss her. Gary Kimble

  4. Anne Bowman/Robert Dahle says:

Barbara has been a dear friend for many years–in D.C., Seattle, and her dream home in Elmo. She was a role model for many and loved unconditionally. She will be missed.

  5. Vicki Morin Gallagher says:

Charlie, Bonnie and Stacy, My deepest sympathy for your family. Remember the sunny moments and the smile. Your lives were enriched because of Barbara. And now Go and say hello to winter. Remember when Barbara would hike into spotted bear just to say hello to winter. We’ll all enriched by her friendship.

  6. Katie Adamson says:

I was thinking about Barbara a lot lately knowing of her recent battle with cancer and just discovered the world has lost her. Wow what a loss it is. That bright, huge, cheery grin, deep sage advice and solid support I know she offered to me and hundreds more. My fodest memory of Barbara and perhaps one of the best of my life was visiting Montana with her and staying in the pioneer log cabin of one of her friends. We awoke to a litter of kittens out our window who later snuggled up with us. Barbara helped me through a very tough time in my life and helped set me on a course for a much better future. I loved her dearly and I am very saddened. I know how much her family will miss her. My heart goes out to you. Katie

  7. Casey Huckins says:

It was like hitting a wall when I learned of Barbara’s passing out of this physical stage of life. Today and always, the thought of Barbara brings two entities strongly to mind, family and mountains. Barbara and her family introduced me to camping in mountains and treated me like family for which I have always been grateful. Those camping trips in the Bob Marshall and elsewhere are among my favorite memories.

Through the effects Barbara had on people and places around her, she will continue to be a positive force on this planet.
    Peace to you all.
    Love Casey

  8. Millie and Tim Judge says:

There are some people who walk this earth that are special and different from everyone else. Barbara was one of those people. She had a warmth, spirit and wisdom about her. She lived in tune with nature. You don’t find that very often outside of our native Indian cultures, but she had it. I guess that’s why she was so drawn to them and they to her….she understood. Her love, laughter and warmth will be with us always. Our love and prayers to Bonnie, Stacy, Charlie and all the rest of the family and grandkids.

  9. Jeannine Duperron says:

I met Barbara on a beach in Mexico and immediately felt a very strong connect to her. I believe that was in the early 90′s. Since she moved to Elmo I had tried to contact her several times either by e-mail or by phone and now I know why I never received an answer.

I offer my most sincere wishes for her family whom she greately loved and honored.

I love in Fairmont Hot Springs, B.C. Canada and would like to know when the memorial service will be held. If possible I would like to attend to honor her as a very special woman and dear friend.

    In love
    Jeannine
