Obituary for Shirley C. Beck

Shirley C. Beck
Shirley Coombs Beck, born March 3, 1920 passed away peacefully on December 19, 2017. She moved to Polson in 2004 to be with her daughters, Susan B. Urbach and Pamela B. Gibson. Shirley was raised in Salt Lake City, UT, and received her bachelor’s degree at the University of Colorado. During World War II she married Robert S. Beck, moved to Bozeman, MT and raised their two daughters. She then moved back to SLC to be with family and friends. She lived a wonderful life, skied, played tennis until she was 82, traveled the
world and loved to play cards. Shirley was a member of the Board of Directors of Westminster College and a P.E.O. member for 70 years.

Shirley is survived by her sister Carol Elliott of Salt Lake City, two daughters Sue Urbach (Keith) and Pam Gibson, four grandsons, five great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley has been cremated and there will be a “Celebration of Life” in the summer on Flathead Lake. She will be truly missed not only by her family but those that were blessed by her sweet smile and positive attitude.
