Dear Ross, Darlene, and Family,
This is a shock and it saddens us in our trying to understand this tragedy. We understand that no amount of words can take away the pain but we are your friends and we hope there is some comfort in this message.
Thinking of you, Dennis and Jan
May Trooper Hoyt always rest in the arms of the angels, forever at peace. Neither he nor his service will ever be forogotten. My deepest sympathies and condolences are with the family, friends, the Montana Highway Patrol, and his brothers and sisters in uniform across Montana and the nation. We share your grief. May God bless and keep you and hold you close during this most difficult time.
I would like to extend my deepest condolences to his family. Chris was one of the nicest people I knew. He always had a smile on his face and would ask, with sincerity, about my family. I met him through my brother, August Caye, who was in the same grade in school as Chris. Having the same love for life attitudes and genuine sweetness toward others, made them life long friends. My brother passed away many years ago and he was there to help us in our time of grief. He continued his friendship with the family and we were always happy to see him. We all will miss his kind words and smiling face.
Our prayers are with his sons, parents and life partner. Knowing Chris as I did, I know that he went to a very special place.
Sincerely,
Alberta Caye
Working with Chris was an honor and a privilege. He will be missed by many on both sides of the radio. God bless.
Dear Eileen, Traven, Kellen and Mo,
My heart aches for all of you at this very difficult time. May Jesus hold you in His loving arms and bring you comfort and peace. You will all be in my prayers, and in the prayers of so many friends (and old neighbors like us) who care about you. God’s Blessings, Lisa [(and Laura, Taylor, & Megan Rost) & Mark Rochin.]
Chris was a wonderful guy, a great neighbor in Big Arm and true friend. Chris and his dad, Ross, built our home in 1991. When a huge pine tree blew down and I did not have a clue what to do with it, Chris came to the rescue and removed the tree, all of its limbs and cleaned up the debris– all without charging me a penny. I never got the opportunity to return the favor and feel indebted to him to this day. Although I did not know much about Chris’ life as a Montana Highway Patrol officer, I know that he took to the task with drive and dedication. He was great with young children, having had three of his own, and I am sure that, as an officer, he has helped inummerable children remain on the right side of the law as they came through difficult years in their lives. His passing has left a huge hole in our local community. He will be greatly missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Hoyt Family and Freinds.
Darline, Ross & Tom

My heart goes out to the Hoyt family. I met Chris when he was in training in the Billings area. I grew up in Ronan, so you can imagine we had things to talk about (ie: Chiefs versus Pirates). My wife commented that she would have liked to have met him. She thought the way he passed away showed his character more strongly than anything else she could think of.
I agree. He was a good man.
Dear Tammy:
For some reason I was thinking of you yesterday and wondering where you were and what you were up to. Now I receive this email from Roger Millar at MAPS with the news of your sweet man’s passing. My heart goes out to you and his boys. He must have been your true one and only. I have been reading the guestbook. What a special and handsome fellow he was. I wish you healing and comfort as you face the next months/years. I know he must have loved and treasured you.
Hugs, Kit
There is a special place in heaven for you Chris. Our prayers go out to your family. Go in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Chris Hoyt. I attended high school with Chris. Chris had an amazing sense of humor, and made everyone feel at ease around him. I haven’t kept in touch with him over the last 22 years, but I can tell from what I have read about him that he was still the same. I will be praying for Chris’ sons, and family during this time of grieving.
Chris was the officer on the scene of my car accident in April. While I was in the hospital at St Pat’s, Chris called my husband 7-8 times to see how I was doing. He nominated me for a Save By the Belt award in June. I was thrilled to meet him again (only conscious this time). He was a very sweet man who took his job so seriously. I am happy to have met him. There is a terrible void in the valley due to his absence. May peace be over his whole family now.
Dear family members of Christ Hoyt, especially to those I know, Blanche, Ross, Bonnie and Adam and my classmate, Barbara. It was with distinct sadness that I read of Chris’s passing in The Leader. My sincere condolences on the tragic loss of Chris. Too early, too soon; be comforted that he is at rest. My prayers and hugs to each of you.
Sincerly,
Juli Parker (Karlsgodt)
My family prey’s for your at your time of loss. Just remember all the good times.
