Ernest C. Rue

October 20, 1920 - February 27, 2010

            Ernest Clifford Rue, 89, passed away peacefully in Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Polson Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center with his wife of 47 plus years, Betty L. Rue, by his side. They enjoyed five full months together and received good care.

            Ernest was married earlier in life to Cleo Burnham of Roundup, MT and they had six children. They were later divorced and he then married Betty Israel Schneider on May 28, 1962 in Lander, Wyoming. His brother in-law, N. James Bartz, officiated the ceremony.

            Ernest was born October 20, 1920 in Belmont, MT. He attended local Belmont schools and drove a truck for forty years, thirty of which were for Consolidated Freightways and then later retired from. He was a Teamsters Union member and also had many interests and collections.

            He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl O. Rue and Elise Olson Rue; brothers, Orville, Conrad, and Vernon Rue; sisters, Evelyn Rue Lawrence, Mabel Rue Cross, and Ruth Rue Coffman.

            Ernest is survived by his wife, Betty L Rue; daughters, Janet E. Linehan (John), and Cindy McCullough; one step-daughter, Lois Lindley Barnett (Jim); sons, Ronald W. Rue (Heidi), Richard A. Rue, Robin E. Rue (Susan), Patrick L. Rue; one step-son, Randy Lindley; one brother, Carl O. Rue (Helen), and many nieces, nephews, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

            A family memorial service will be held at the Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, MT on Saturday. May 29, 2010. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family online at www.groganfuneralhome.com. Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory, Polson is assisting with arrangements.
