Gail Gretchen Peterson

Gail Gretchen Peterson, 93, of Polson, MT passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at St. Luke’s Community Medical Center, in Ronan. MT. Gail was born on March 19, 1916 in Tokio, North Dakota, daughter of the late Ralph and Gretchen Hindstock Mosher.
Gail married Leon Peterson in North Dakota on December 18, 1936 and then later moved to Polson, MT in 1953. She worked for many years as a housekeeper at St. Joseph Hospital in Polson.
She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Polson and in her earlier years was the superintendent of the Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at the church. Gail sang in the church choir and was a quilter at Good Shepherd. She also did volunteer work at the Country Store, the Polson Food Pantry, and the Polson Flathead Historical Museum.
Her husband Leon, an infant daughter at birth, a daughter, Kennis; two sons, Steven and Grant and a brother and sister precede Gail in death.
Gail is survived by her son and daughter, Bill Peterson and Dallas Peterson both of Polson. She is also survived by grandsons Tony and Michael Peterson of Polson; granddaughters, Valerie Peterson of California, Lindsey, Leslie and Mikayla Peterson of Spokane, WA, and a sister, Marjorie of Houston, TX.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009, 10:30 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Polson, with Rev. Paul Rowold officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Polson. A reception will be held at the church immediately after the graveside service.
Memorials may be made in Gail’s name either to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the Polson Loaves and Fish Food Pantry, or to St. Luke’s Extended Care Facility in Ronan.
