James Clayton Hart
James Clayton Hart age 61 of Polson passed away on Friday, June 26, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital from natural causes. He was born June 16, 1948 at Bakersfield, CA. to Raymond & Beatrice McFarland Hart. He attended school at Pismo Beach, CA, & Ely, NV, & attended a junior college in Kennewick, WA. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Clayton married Stephanie Edith Burnett in 1985 at Saratoga, CA. He worked as a dental tech & owned & operated Clayton’s Jewelry in Polson. He was a life member of the VFW, served as commander of VFW post #2986 from 2002-2006, a member of the Elks Club #1695 (Mission Valley Elks), & served as past grand commander of the Cooties. Clayton enjoyed many things, building model cars & ships, & making costumes for Halloween. His parents, a sister Sharon Gibson, brother Ken Hart & nephew Erik Hart preceded him in death. He is surivived by his wife Stephanie Hart of Polson, daughters Christina Hart, Corrina Koenig & Clatricia Lagerway, all of Washington and Janell McGivern of Georgia, a stepson Shawn Dowds of Pennsylvania, a sister Suzanne Viegas of Nevada, & brother Curtis hart of California, along with 9 grand & 2 great grand-children. Visitation will be held on Tues, June 30, 2009 from 10 am to 5 pm in the Grogan Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held on Wed, July 1, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the VFW Hall in Polson with Rev. Richard Widerholdt officiating. Military honors will follow at the hall. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family online at www.groganfuneralhome.com.
