James L. Milne

James Laurence Milne, age 87, passed away on Thursday April 22, 2010 in Polson Montana.  He was born on December 29, 1922 to Andrew Laurence and Emma Anderson Milne in East Helena, Montana.  He graduated from Montana State University in 1948 with a BS in Chemistry.  In June of 1949 he married Carla Mowry Keith of Missoula Montana.

He spent the rest of his life devoted to furthering education of himself and others, including being a father and a Boy Scout leader. He also earned a PHD in Education from Washington State University and was a teacher at Skagit Valley Community College.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Carla Keith Milne.  He is survived by three children: Keith Milne of Mt. Vernon, WA, Mark Milne of Pendleton, OR and Devon Finn of Mt. Vernon, WA along with 2 granddaughters and 4 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday April 27, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the St. Andrews Episcopal Church with Rev. George A. Walter officiating.  Arrangements and cremation under the direction of Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory.  Condolences to the family at www.groganfuneralhome.com.
