Betty’s art works are known through out Montana.  Her works have been displayed in five different galleries in Montana. Many of her paintings have found homes throughout the continental United States, in Hawaii and abroad.    She used to say that her fondest memories were of painting at Flathead Lake.  She stated, “I have learned not to paint for others, but to satisfy the inner person in myself.  If others like my work, I am pleased”.

Her home was always occupied by animals.  For many years, she was accompanied by Siamese cats.  Her love of animals was boundless.  She enjoyed her home for the last few years, relying on Joan St. John to aid her in many tasks.

What an incredibly talented and dear woman Betty was. Struggling with the loss of her eyesight in later years could have turned such an amazing artist bitter but, she remained a lovely and caring woman. I miss visiting with her but am relieved that her earthly struggle is over.

What a rich life this lady lived. Such spunk yet great caring for others especially those lovely cats.
We enjoyed Betty as a neighbor and loved to hear her stories of growing up in eastern Montana.

I’m sorry for the familys loss. I’ve enjoyed Betty so much over the years. I first met her through my Stepmother Neva Tollefson, and their work at the Sandpiper gallery. I also have worked at the Polson Animal clinic for 16 years, and knew her last two siamese kitties. We have one of her bobcat paintings in our exam room, that she gave us when her kitty Sabrina passed away. I’ll always remember her for her wit and beautiful artwork. What a neat lady! She will live on through all her accomplishments.
    Sincerely,
    Toni Wock
