Mary S. Davis, 91, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009 in Polson, MT, where she had lived the past five years in order to be closer to family.

            Mary was born in Lewistown, MT on October 28, 1917 to the late Felix and Anna Jerbic: the fourth of five daughters. She attended elementary school in Lewistown and graduated from high school in 1935. In 1937, she married Donald Davis. They lived in Glendive, Billings, and finally Livingston, where they raised their four children. She worked for the Northern Pacific and Bulington Northern Railroads until her retirement in 1982.

            She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Donald Davis; a son, Barry; and two sisters, Annie and Eva.

            She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Max) Smith of Greenville, SC; twin sons, Leonard (Winnie) Davis of San Mateo, CA and Donald (Sherry) Davis of Polson, MT; three grandchildren, Candace, Shanyn, and Spencer, and five great-grandchildren.

            A family memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.

    Donny and family,

    I just want you to know that I am so sad to hear of your mother’s passing. I worked at SJRC for a short time, but in that time I became quite attached to Mary. She was an amazing lady and touched my life. I will miss her. My prayers and condolences to your family.
