Nelsine Rasmussen
Nelsine Christine Rasmussen leaves a legacy of deep love and faith after passing away on Jan 9, 2012, at the age of 64, at her home in Polson, MT., due to cancer. Nelsine’s gift in life was in treating all children, and the elderly patients in her care, with loving respect, spreading peace and contentment as she touched their lives.

Nelsine married Roger Rasmussen in 1976, and they built a home together inMissoula. While her children were young, Nelsine worked as a homemaker and grew much of the food for the family table in her garden and through raising animals. She was a devoted caregiver at the hospice house inMissoulauntil it closed. She then cared for her mother in her home.
In 2003 Roger and Nelsine leftMissoulato move to a farm in PolsonMontana, where they were quickly welcomed into the community. Nelsine was an active member of the Valley View Women’s Club and the Mission Mountain Quilt Guild. She volunteered for some time for the local Humane Society. Further, she frequently found time to travel the country to visit her children, daughter-in-law, Debbie, and son-in-law, Sam, and seven beloved grandchildren. Nelsine was a CHS fellow graduate, and a very friendly and personable classmate. She
always had time for a kind word for everyone. May the love of the Lord bring you
peace through this time.
Nelsine was an amazing example of how to be a great mom and grandma. She was there for us when we went through our struggles and loved and supported us through them. You, Nelsine, were an amazing woman and I will deeply miss you. It was an honor to call you my mothe in love (law). I love you always!

I can’t think of a single time when Aunt Nelsine wasn’t kind and caring in her actions or her words. I will miss her very much. My prayers are with the Rasmussen family.
I have many fond memories of Aunt Nelly, and will miss her warm smile and hearty laugh. She used to “speak Lutheran” with a robust “yah, sure, you betcha!” when talking about her dad. Hugs and prayers for all of you!
Oh sweet friend & neighbor, you don’t realize how much you will be missed. Such an unassuming friend. To know you was to love you. Our Lord wanted another Angel in Heaven & he chose you. How could he not. May he be with your family as they cope with their loss. ‘Til we meet again. We will miss you so much. How fortunate we were to have known you. God bless.

Although I haven’t been to Montana in many years, I have fond memories of Aunt Nelsine and will always be grateful for the care she gave my Grandpa Max. I remember how Uncle Roger was transformed from a crusty bachelor to a devoted husband and father when Nelsine came into his life. She had the kindest eyes and sweetest smile. My heart aches for all of her children and Uncle Roger and I will be with you all in spirit on Saturday.
Roger and Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss.

Dear Roger and Family,
I was so saddened to hear about Nelsine. We were cheerleaders together in high school and had many good times together. The last time I saw Nelsine was at a class reunion in Corvallis. We had a good time talking about the old times. She had a wonderful smile and I am sure she still does.
May your family have peace in their hearts and know that memories never die.
My prayers and thoughts are with you,
Paulette Hall
