Blanche
Elizabeth Noble Bailey, 92, of Polson, MT. passed away from life and
her loving family on January 30, 2006 at the St. Luke Extended care
Facility in Ronan. She has gone to be with her Savior and is now with
her loved ones who were waiting for her in heaven.
Blanche was born on April 24, 1913 in Listowel, Ontario, Canada to
Olive Elizabeth (Moore) and Earl William Noble. She attended school in
Canada & Montana and attended Polson High School. After her family was
grown, she received training certification as a licensed practical
nurse. Prior to her certification she had worked many years as a
nurses aid; assisting with deliveries, surgery and all aspects of
nursing.
Blanche was united in marriage on Sept. 6, 1931 to Arthur Lenard
Bailey at Kerr Dam. They spent most of their married life in Valley
View where they raised their family.
Blanche assisted Art with a milk route and was the first cook in the
new lunchroom at Valley View School. Blanche was a news correspondent
for the Flathead Courier for many years.
She was very artistic and became a wonderful artist. She made and
decorated wedding cakes and now two of her granddaughters have taken
up the craft.
Blanche was very active in the V.F.W. Auxiliary & Rebekah Lodge, where
she had the honor of being State Rebekah Assembly President of Montana
for 2 years. She was also a member of Grange, P.T.A. and held offices
in each organization. She also received many awards for being Buddy
Poppy Chairperson in the V.F.W.
There was never a parade that she didn’t march and carry a flag. One
year Blanche got to ride in a convertible as Grand Marshall of the 4th
of July Parade.
She volunteered at the Country Store for several years. She was a
wonderful cook and enjoyed ceramics and her rose garden.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband Art, a daughter Doris
Jennison, a son Arthur, Jr. (Sonny), her parents, her brothers Irwin,
Richard, Marlin & Neil Noble, niece Marion Noble Dooley, nephew Dick
Noble, grandsons Rodney, Larry Knutson #1 and Larry Knutson #2 and
great grandson Dusty Ely, son-in-laws John cook & Chuck Jennison, 4
sisters-in-laws and 3 brothers-in-law.
She is survived by her daughters Lois (Jim) Knutson of Polson &
Yuma,Ariz., JoAnne (Bert) Finch of Polson & Yuma, Ariz., Sally Cook of
Ronan, daughter-in-law Sheila of Sedro Woolley, Wash., 15
grandchildren- Patti, Ely, Jeff (Kathy) Knutson all of Polson, Susie
(Earl) Owens of Shoreline, WA., Lenard (Judy) Jennison, Rick Jennison,
Zane (Erin) Jennison, Beth (Paul) Rathbun and Lisa Jennison all of
Ronan,MT, Wayne (Brenda) Finch of Eureka,MT, Cathy Finch of Ronan,
Rita (Jim) Jaques of Missoula, Jody Cook of Ronan, Bryan (Sally) Cook
of Polson, Ken (Laurie) Bailey of Spokane, WA., Debbie (Rick) Minne of
Sedro Woolley, WA. She is also survived by 37 great grandchildren & 33
great great grandchildren & sister-in-law Bonnie Noble of Sedro
Woolley, WA. and LaVern & Lovie Bailey of Polson, numerous nieces,
nephews & friends.
Blanche was a member of the Polson Community Church and loved her
church family.
Mother you were always such an inspiration to all your family and we
will be forever grateful for all the love and support you gave to us.
Our lives were so richly blessed because of you and we are happy you
are now at peace.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 5th from 1-5 p.m. at the
Grogan Funeral Home in Polson. Funeral services will be held on
Monday, Feb. 6th at 11:00 a.m. at the Grogan Funeral Home with Rev.
Richard Widerholdt officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview
cemetery. A reception will be held at the V.F.W.
