Our gentle Craig, with soft sweet spirit and soul, has passed on
this month of May 2008. Craig was born on March 9, 1948 at
Minneapolis, Minnesota to James and C. Michaelle Bolinger.
Craig,
with his family, grew up in Minneapolis, MN on its many lakes and
shores of the Mississippi River fishing, ice fishing, and boating
with his brothers and father. A family so big we had our own
baseball team. After a childhood in Minnesota, he joined the Navy to
serve his country and dreams again upon the water. He not only
served in the Navy, but also served up masterful dishes in Wisconsin
for 20 years as Head Chef in a resort by the water. He ran the
kitchen with skill, style, and humor and continued to delight his
family and friends with his ever-changing menu. After Wisconsin, he
was off to Alaska where he worked as a fisherman on the Bering Sea.
Following an injury, Craig came home to Montana and spent the last
eleven years quietly pursuing his dreams of fishing, boating,
spending time with his family and friends that he held so dear.
Craig was the proprietor of “Boly’s Sunglasses” in Polson, MT. He
loved our Montana, our good people, and our good country and never
missed a beat when it came to helping anyone less fortunate. He kept
his family and friends so very close to heart. He will be greatly
missed and always remembered. Craig is our silvery sparkling little
fish that has swam away….but left us with hearts full of love and
warmth and the memories of a man in his Stetson, a glint in his eyes
and a gentle smile for the world. He remains magically for us on
Flathead Lake, forever. His father James D. Bolinger, sister Cynthia
Ann Bolinger, sister-in-law Rebecca Bolinger and nephew Eliot
Raymond preceded Craig in death. Craig is survived by his beautiful
mother Michaelle Bolinger of Polson, sister Sharon Bolinger of Blue
Bay, MT, brothers James and his wife Sandy of Stevensville, MT,
Thomas Bolinger of Maui, Hawaii, David Bolinger of Blue Bay, MT,
Steven and his wife Debbie Bolinger of Rathdrum, ID, Leslie, Lindsay
& Lisbeth, Bolinger, Rye & Brent Palen, Geoffrey & Brooke Bolinger,
Rick Malone, Jessica Cheff Moran, Nicole Shippee, Sarah, Ryan &
Michael Banks and all grandchildren and great nieces and nephews. A
memorial service will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.
at the Grogan Funeral Home in Polson, MT with Father James Connor
officiating. Military honors will follow the services outside of the
funeral home.
