Melville Robert Casper, age 95 of Pablo, passed away on Sunday July
15, 2007 from natural causes.. Melville was born in Idaho Falls, ID
on December 28, 1911 to Cassius and Emma Mary Casper. He attended
school in Idaho Falls.
Melville married Leona Lords in 1930. She passed away leaving
Melville with four children. He married Margaret Robinson and she
passed away in 1943, leaving him with five children under the age of
10. His sister, Mabel, helped Melville with the children for over a
year until she married. Melville continued raising his children, as
a single parent, in the ways of the Lord until they were all grown
and married. He lived alone for several years and then married
Katherine Frank of Weiser, ID. Melville farmed, worked for Sears,
Idaho Wholesale Grocery, and 20 years with the Idaho Falls School
District as the warehouse manager. Melville was a charter member and
Deacon at the Idaho Falls Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed
reading, walking, fishing, being with his family, telling stories,
and being in the Firth and Idaho Falls area. His parents, wives
Leona and Margaret, three infants, 2 brothers, and a sister preceded
him in death. Melville is survived by his wife Katherine Casper of
Weiser, ID, daughters Helen (John) Bennett of Pablo, MT, Marjorie
(Melvin) Veland of Richland, WA, Violet Wiklund of Idaho Falls, ID,
Joyce (Bob) Clark of Portland, OR, son Robert (Sonja) Casper of Gold
Beach, OR, four brothers, 24 grandchildren, including his special
granddaughter Becky Bennett, 46 great-grandchildren, and 9
great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held for Melville on
Friday July 20, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Grogan
Funeral Home in Polson, MT. Graveside service will be held on Monday
July 23, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Rosehill Cemetery in Idaho Falls, ID.
A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Cornerstone
Assembly of God, 187 E. 13th St. in Idaho Falls, ID with his
sons-in-law officiating.
